A Counter Top from Red Oak Wood

Here is a recently uploaded video from Matthew Cremona who makes fine furniture with both hand and power tools. His YouTube profile says: "I start with cutting down a tree. My designs have a clean straight line look but I also really enjoy building period pieces."

In this video he makes a counter top for his parent's laundry room. His father asked Matthew to make the counter from any kind of wood and in this case he used red oak slabs.

DIY - Make your own Shelves

Instead of queueing at IKEA for a flat-pack shelves, how about getting your out tools like a drill, a spirit level and a screwdriver, make your own shelves?

We've found a simple step-by-step guide in the link below which gives you instructions on how to set up your own floating shelves. The feature says "Pre-made floating shelves can be bought at many big box retailers but they aren’t always sturdy, made of solid wood or the size to fit your unique space." That is true and by making your own shelves you will create something for your home that is high-quality, long-lasting and made by you! It beats reading an IKEA instructions manual. Check the shelf-making instructions in the link below.

Facebook - Memories - Saw Blades

We're on Facebook, you probably know. We use it to upload woodworking information, images and news about DIY and saw blades and tooling. Since 2011 Gerrymet have had a Facebook and Twitter presence and on both platforms we share articles about professional woodworking, furniture design, wood artists, innovative woodcraft and our own tooling products!

This post below we found in our Facebook Memories. It's about a playlist of films we've collected on YouTube. The reason we created that is because, as you also probably know, Gerrymet, since 1983, have supplied tooling like circular saw blades.

If you're a carpenter and want a reliable online (UK-based!) supplier of woodworking tools, a supplier who offers efficient and FREE delivery, then visit Gerrymet online - click here Saw Blades

Gerrymet offer an easy and (with ZERO delivery charges on online orders) money-saving way to stock up on any of the tooling products you use and replace daily - drills, bits, planing knives, irons, as well as our comprehensive range of saw blades.
