The Homemade Workshop

Another woodworking book we've added to our Google Library is The Homemade Workshop: Build Your Own Woodworking Machines and Jigs. By James Hamilton and Stumpy Nubs, the book is available to preview on Google Books. The content inside shows you how to build woodworking machines, which is a cheaper way to do DIY and carpentry than buying machines from manufacturers. You can pick up with this book a number of projects for building woodworking machines such as a band saw, a crosscut "Super-Sled", a table saw fence, twelve machines in total.

Gerrymet, as online suppliers of woodworking tools such as circular saw blades and drills and bits and router cutters etc, we have a number of how-to woodwork books on our Google Library shelves.

To view the Hamilton and Nubs book, click here - woodworking books - or click the book cover below and you will see our Google Library.

As part of the Masters celebrations, Gerrymet are giving away a FREE pack of Srixon AD333 golf ball to anyone who places an online order. Woodworking Skills on Prime Time TV

Watch The Late Show's Stephen Colbert and his guest Nick Offerman compare woodworking skills. In this case it's a wooden boat. Mr Offerman is owner of the Offerman Woodshop, which is a small collective of woodworkers and makers based out of his wood shop in East Los Angeles.

Supplying Circular Saw Blades Since 1983

It says in Jim Tolpin's Table Saw Magic by Jim Tolpin that the circular saw blade was invented in the mid-1800s. A woman was watching her husband sawing an awkward piece of wood. He was using a handsaw and finding it difficult. Suddenly his wife had an idea. She thought that instead of placing the cutting teeth of the saw blade along a straight line where they could cut only half the time, why not place them along the rim of a toothed wheel that would cut the wood continuously?

Hence, the circular saw blade was invented.

This type of saw blade is one of the most useful tools in any carpenter's kit. Since the time of invention, of course, the circular saw blade has been modified. With the use of new materials such as carbide tipped saws, which last longer than all-steel blades, and with the design of different tooh patterns, the circular saw blade offers a very quick method in woodcutting.

Gerrymet supply circular saw blades online. We offer a quick and safe shopping cart used by carpenters and joiners and DIY enthuisiasts across the UK. Since 1983 we have supplied the UK's woodcutting industry with the latest tooling products and saw blades.

Do you need a saw blade modified? If so, check out our page online where you can read about our service where on request we're able to alter bore sizes. Click here - saw blade modifications - for details.

The range of saw blades we supply is wide. They include scoring saw blades, panel sizing saw blades, beam saw blades, rip saws, biscuit joint saw blades and many more.

With very competitive prices and FREE DELIVERY on all online orders, Gerrymet offer great products and a great service. If you have any questions about our tooling and saw blades, feel free to call us on 01543 378 805.
