Build a Canoe in 2019

This could be your first project in 2018. Make a canoe. By the time you've finished the project, it'll be spring and with the weather warmer it'll be the perfect time to get out on the water.

This how-to video was posted by Jimmy Diresta. This is his first canoe build. He says: "I learned lots on this build. I genuinely "went to school" on this one!"

Thank you to Jimmy!

Wooden Play Structures

We found this on the Woodworking Plus UK group on Facebook. It's a perfect playhouse made by Paul Prentice who is a director at Huubie Build, the UK based "specialists in residential, commercial and educational all inclusive bespoke wooden outdoor play structures. From concept designs to complete adventures.."

In the example below Paul displays imagination and pure wood craftsmanship. We like!

Classic Garden Shed

The classic garden shed. Whether it's to store tools, to use as a woodworking shop or as a space to relax away from hectic family life, the garden shed is a staple of any English garden. Look how the design has been modernised yet it harks back to the classic style. Anyway, we'd ReTweeted a design from CJC Carpentry who're based in Newbury.

A Counter Top from Red Oak Wood

Here is a recently uploaded video from Matthew Cremona who makes fine furniture with both hand and power tools. His YouTube profile says: "I start with cutting down a tree. My designs have a clean straight line look but I also really enjoy building period pieces."

In this video he makes a counter top for his parent's laundry room. His father asked Matthew to make the counter from any kind of wood and in this case he used red oak slabs.
